Vice President Leni Robredo chose not to dwell on "external decisions" such as the possibility of facing Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio in the presidential race, saying her only focus is her own bid.

During a press briefing in Cebu City on Friday, Nov, 12, Robredo stressed that while the possibility of facing Duterte is included in her list of expectations, it will not affect the way she is handling her candidacy.
"Ako kasi laban lang namin iyong inaasikaso namin. Kami naman when we decided, kabahagi na siya ng expectations. Kabahagi na ng expectations pero I don't think iyong galaw namin should be affected by external decisions (For me, I am only dealing with our own fight. When we decided, it is part of the expectations. It is part of the expectations but I don't think our movement should be affected by external decisions)," Robredo said when asked who between Duterte and Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. is the bigger opponent.
"Sa amin, klaro sa amin iyong focus kaya hindi naman kami bothered (Our focus is very clear, this is why we are not bothered)," the vice president added.
Robredo arrived in Cebu on Friday to meet various sectoral and youth leaders and to lead the turnover of sustainable and training subsidies to the Pagtambayayong Foundation.
Her visit was welcomed by her supporters who are clad in pink shirts starting from her arrival at the Mactan Cebu International Airport.
She described the support she witnessed this time as "overwhelming," something she never experienced before.
"Actually, sobrang (it is very) overwhelming. Sobrang overwhelming nung support. From the time we got out of the plane this morning, hindi ko pa naranasan ito from before (The support is very overwhelming. From the time we got out of the plane this morning, I haven't experienced this before)," the opposition leader expressed.
"Iyong reception na natanggap ko ngayon, sobrang layo from the one in 2016. So, grabeng—overwhelmed kami nang grabe (The reception we received now is very far from the one in 2016. We were really overwhelmed," she added.
Robredo will be in Cebu until Saturday, Nov. 13.
