BACOLOD CITY - The provincial government of Negros Occidental has set new curfew hours to be observed in light of the decreasing number of COVID-19 cases in the province.
Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson issued Executive Order (EO) No. 21-50 which mandates that curfew hours for persons aged 18 and above shall be from 12 midnight to 4 a.m., while curfew hours for persons below 18 years old shall be from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.
Lacson said in the executive order that the enforcement of new curfew hours is to limit mass gatherings and prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The new curfew hours are shorter compared to the previous 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. in the whole province.
Lacson said the curfew hours exempt persons in need of emergency services, personnel in cargo vehicles, and authorized persons outside their residence with a valid work schedule and identification card.
The province is under Alert Level 2 from November 1 to 14, 2021, which allows for an increased capacity for businesses, as well as religious activities, intrazonal and interzonal movement, with no age-based mobility restrictions.
