Manobo-Tigwahanon passes October Physician Licensure Exam —NCIP
A member of the Manobo Tigwahanon indigenous peoples (IP) group is among the passers of the October Physician Licensure Examination (PLE), the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) said Friday, Nov. 12.

The NCIP identified the IP member as Dr. Joeffrey S. Mambucon who was included in the roll of Professional Regulation Commission (PRC)’s successful examinees of PLE.
“Ibinahagi ng PRC na 1,677 mula sa 2,302 ang naging matagumpay sa nasabing eksaminasyon at kasama rito ang isang miyembro ng Manobo Tigwahanon IP group ng San Fernando, Bukidnon! (The PRC announced that 1,677 out of 2,302 were successful in the said exam and this included a member of the Manobo Tigwahanon IP group of San Fernando, Bukidnon!),” read the NCIP Facebook post on Friday.
"Binabati at ipinagmamalaki ka ng National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP), Dr. Joeffrey S. Mambucon! Isa kang tunay na inspirasyon! (Congratulations and the NCIP is proud of you, Dr. Joeffrey S. Mambucon! You are truly an inspiration ,” it further wrote.
Mambucon, fondly known as “Otit” in their community, earned his Doctor of Medicine degree at the De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute in June last year.

In the PLE, the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) posted a 98.6 percent passing rate, making it as top-performing school.
The PLM was followed by University of the Philippines (UP) Manila and Ateneo School of Medicine and Public Health (ASMPH), posting 96.30 percent and 96 percent passing rates, respectively.
