Hospitals, isolation facilities utilization rates improving - OHCC
The occupancy rates of hospitals and isolation facilities in Metro Manila have been improving following the continued decline in the number of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the region.

This was according to Dr. Marylaine Padlan of the government’s One Hospital Command Center (OHCC), who said that the average number of calls for hospital referrals they have received was down to 150 over the past week.
“In terms of our utilization rate, in terms of the hospitals and isolation facilities, bumababa siya (it is going down). So, puwede nating masabing bumubuti (we can say it is getting better),” Padlan said in a public briefing Friday, Nov. 12.
Following the decline in the number of infections, Padlan said the government has reduced the number of beds available for use in isolation facilities.
“But once na may nakita tayo na (that there is an) increasing trend in our COVID cases, magdadagdag naman kami kung kinakailangan ulit na mga bed sa ating mga (we will add more beds to our) isolation facilities,” she noted.
Padlan said the OHCC can now refer patients much faster to available medical facilities, especially patients that are in need of immediate medical attention.
“Pero minsan may hintayan pa rin na around mga three to five cases per day, pero madali rin namin itong nari-resolved (But sometimes there are around three to five cases per day that have to wait, but we can also easily resolve it),” she said.
“Dahil nga minsan hinihintay lang namin talaga iyong mga COVID test results nila bago namin sila maipasok (Because sometimes we just wait for their COVID test results before we can enter them),” she added.
