Parks, Ramos take B.League wins; Thirdy, San-En absorb fourth straight loss

Matthew Aquino didn’t get a chance to face Thirdy Ravena on the court but saw the Shinshu Brave Warriors produce a 92-79 win over the San-En Neophoenix in a rare B.League midweek clash Wednesday, Nov. 10.

Aquino sat from the sidelines as the Brave Warriors prevailed over the host Neophoenix and improved to 7-5 in the match held at the Toyohashi City Gymnasium.

Ravena had 10 points and five rebounds but San-En absorbed its fourth straight defeat and fell to 3-9.

Ray Parks Jr. and Dwight Ramos were also on the winning side of a busy night in the Japanese league’s 2021-22 season.

Parks put up seven points, three rebounds and two assists as the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins defeated the visiting Hiroshima Fireflies, 82-76 and climbed to 7-5 at Park Arena Komaki.

Ramos tallied seven points and two rebounds in the Toyama Grouses’ 94-80 road win over the Kyoto Hannaryz for a 2-10 record.

Kobe Paras and Niigata Albirex lost for the ninth straight time and went down with a 2-10 record after former PBA import Nick Fazekas scored in the dying seconds to give the Kawasaki Brave Thunders an 82-81 win at home.

Kiefer Ravena’s 14 points and six assists were not enough to prevent the Shiga Lakestars from absorbing a 102-94 home loss to the Shimane Susanoo Magic at the Ukaru-chan Arena. The Lakestars now have an even 6-6 record.

Javi Gomez de Liano played just five minutes and scored two points as the Ibaraki Robots were defeated by the Shibuya Sun Rockers, 84-80, and fell to 2-10.

His younger brother Juan Gomez de Liano and Kemark Carino were also defeated in their respective matches in the second division.

Earthfriends Tokyo Z are still winless after a 77-71 defeat to the Nishinomiya Storks, with Gomez de Liano limited to six points on 2-of-6 shooting while turning the ball over five times.

Carino was scoreless in seven minutes for the Aomori Wat’s in a 61-55 setback to the Yamagata Syverns.
