Mayor Malapitan leads groundbreaking rites for another recreational park in Caloocan.
Caloocan City Mayor Oscar "Oca" Malapitan on Thursday, Nov.11, led the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a new park in GSIS Hills, Brgy.164.
The project aims to provide a safe space for children and senior citizens to have fun outside their homes.

“Ipinursigi nating maumpisahan ang pagpapagawa ng parkeng ito para sa ating mga kabataan at senior citizen. Matagal silang hindi nakalabas nang dahil sa pandemya (We've strived to start the park's construction for our children and senior citizens. For a long time, they were not able to go out due to the pandemic),” Malapitan said.
The park will feature a children's playground, a man-made lagoon, a green house, bike and walking lanes, and activity and picnic areas.
Malapitan said that the local government targets to complete the project before his term ends in May 2022.
This will be the fourth park built during the mayor's term. The three other parks are Caloocan People's Park, Buena Park Sports Complex, and Caloocan Nature Park.
