“The facility is the first of its kind in Western Visayas. It will be equipped with an ambulance, police patrol, and fire truck. We are bringing faster emergency response services closer to the constituents,” said Mayor Jerry Treñas during the recent opening.

The first Iloilo City Action and Response (ICARE) Center satellite building is located in Calumpang village, Molo district.

The mayor said there will also be ICARE Centers in the districts of Arevalo, City Proper, Jaro, and La Paz to immediately respond to emergencies

Each of the ICARE Centers will be manned by personnel from the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), Public Safety and Transportation Management Office (PSTMO), the Philippine National Police (PNP), and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).

While the ICARE Center has opened, it will become fully operational by the first quarter of 2022 pending the arrival of other equipment.
