PNP records only 9 COVID infection, but confirms 125th fatality
The Philippine National Police (PNP) has recorded its lowest infection on coronavirus disease (COVID-19) with only nine cases reported on Wednesday, Nov. 10.
Health experts have been saying that the pandemic situation in the country has been improving in the past few days, attributing it to the aggressive vaccination program especially in Metro Manila and nearby provinces considered as the epicenter of the virus infection.
In the PNP alone, a total of 204,728 personnel have already been fully-vaccinated which represents 91.27 percent of the total strength of the police organization.
On the other hand, 5.5 percent, or 16,833 personnel, are till waiting for the second dose of the vaccine while 2,571 personnel, or 1.23 percent remain unvaccinated.
The PNP has recorded 42,047 total confirmed cases since last year, 41,661 of whom have since recovered and restored to full-duty status.
But yesterday, the PNP Health Service confirmed the death of another policeman from Bicol region.
The 54-year old senior officer, the 125th fatality in the PNP, tested positive for COVID-19 during RT-PCR tests on Nov 1.
The patient succumbed in a hospItal on Nov 8 while undergoing treatment.
