Presidential aspirant and Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) standard-bearer Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos, Jr. is getting the support of 25 cause-oriented organizations for his candidacy in the 2022 May national election.
The Progressive Alliance for BBM, an alliance of 25 organizations representing OFWs, Seafarers, Barangay Youth, Christian Churches, Loyalists, and Healthcare workers, submitted a manifesto to express their support to the former lawmaker during a visit in the BBM campaign headquarters in Mandaluyong City recently.
The document known as "Manifesto of Unity, Support, and Commitment to 'Bring Back the Momentum' To Our Country's Progress and Development" was submitted by the group to Marcos' wife, lawyer Louise Araneta-Marcos, during a simple ceremony.
"Believing in a unifying leadership, we, the leaders of the parallel groups and organizations, hereby coalesce and express our deep commitment and unwavering support to a true public servant, a forward-thinking leader and a genuine man for the people, Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos, Jr.," the manifesto read.
"We pledge to align all our efforts to work as one in campaigning and utilizing all means available — our manpower and resources — to achieve our unified goal of electing and installing BBM as the next President of the Republic of the Philippines," said Joey Fornier, the group's convenor, who read their manifesto.
"I know you have gone a long, long way, my husband couldn't be here dahil umiikot na kasi siya pero pinapasabi niya na maraming-maraming salamat. It's because of people like you na maski ano ang batikos nila sa amin, fight pa rin dahil sa inyo. Maraming salamat (I know you have gone a long, long way, my husband couldn't be here because he is already going around but he sends his thanks. It's because of people like you that whatever criticisms they throw at us, we continue to fight because of you. Thank you very much)," Araneta-Marcos said in her acceptance message.
Representatives from the country's largest transport groups have also thrown their support on Marcos' Presidential bid in the coming 2022 May elections, saying they believe that Marcos will implement his plans for their sector once he wins.
The alliance also vowed to 'wholeheartedly dedicate our loyalty and service' to the former Ilocos Norte congressman. The group also believes that Marcos is "the one and only fit and capable man to build back a grappling naton to greatness" and urged Filipinos to join his fight and bring back the Marcos-style of leadership in the government.
