DSWD thanks Cebu Pacific for support to gov't relief operations amid pandemic
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) thanked Cebu Pacific (CEB) for its support to the government’s relief operations amid the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

The DSWD said it tapped the carrier’s logistical support to ensure the expeditious delivery of family food packs (FFPs) to the local government units (LGUs) affected by granular lockdown in Western Visayas,
“We are grateful of Cebu Pacific Airlines’ generosity and continuous support to the Department’s relief operations. This will greatly help the DSWD to efficiently and immediately provide our kakabayans with the assistance that they need especially amid these uncertain times,” DSWD Secretary Rolando Joselito Bautista said in a statement.
Cebu Pacific was behind the transportation of 10,000 FFPs worth more than P6.3 million from Manila to Caticlan on Oct. 10-21.
The relief aid was delivered to DSWD-Field Office VI for distribution to the families affected by localized lockdowns in Western Visayas, the DSWD said.
“Based on the DSWD-National Resource and Logistics Management Bureau (NRLMB), Cebu Pacific has committed to airlift the food packs via free-of-charge cargo in support to the ongoing pandemic response operations of the Department,” the Social Welfare department said.
The DSWD assured the affected LGUs that they will continue to receive food packs as part of the agency’s resource augmentation, as it committed to continuously support families and individuals affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
