The Department of Health (DOH) said that only two regions in the country remain under ""moderate-risk" category for coronavirus disease (COVID-19) amid the decreasing number of cases of the viral illness.
Speaking at President Duterte's Talk to the People program on Tuesday night, DOH Secretary Francisco Duque III said that Cagayan Valley and Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) were still under moderate-risk for COVID-19, while the other regions in the country were under “low-risk” classification.
Duque said that the whole Philippines remains under the low-risk category for COVID-19.
“Patuloy pong bumababa ang ating COVID-19 cases sa buong bansa. Para sa linggong ito (Nov. 3 to 9), nakapagtala tayo ng 47 percent decrease nationwide, kumpara noong nakaraang linggo (Oct. 27 to Nov. 2) na nasa 20 percent lamang (Our COVID-19 cases continue to decrease nationwide. For this week, we have recorded a 47 percent decrease nationwide, compared to last week which was only 20 percent),” he said.
“COVID-19 cases continue to decrease, reaching less than 1,000 cases a day in each of the island groups similar to our levels last February and March 2021,” he added.
Duque said that from Nov. 3 to 9, the average cases per day was at 2,068 as compared to the 3,883 average daily reported cases from Oct. 27 to Nov. 2.
“Mas mabilis na bumababa pa ang mga kaso kung titingnan natin ang reported cases from Nov. 3 to Nov. 9 (The number of cases is decreasing further if we look at the reported cases from Nov. 3 to Nov. 9),” he added.
The country’s healthcare utilization rate is also improving, said Duque.
“Ang bansa ngayon ay may low-risk healthcare ICU at mechanical ventilator utilization rates (The country now has low-risk healthcare ICU and mechanical ventilator utilization rates),” he said.
