Operatives of the Bureau of Immigration (BI) have arrested in Cebu City a South Korean fugitive wanted in his country for distributing pornographic materials through the Internet.
BI Commissioner Jaime Morente said 38-year old Jung Yonggu was apprehended last week on the strength of a Warrant of Deportation issued against him for being an undocumented alien and a risk to public safety and security.
“The office received information of his crimes from South Korean authorities and we immediately conducted an investigation to locate and arrest him,” the BI chief said.

He fled to the Philippines in July 2018 to avoid arrest and, promptiing the Korean government to cancel his passport, making him an undocumented alien.
Jung was working with a Korean convict in the distribution of over 7,400 obscene videos via Internet.
He is no confined at the BI’s detention facility in Bicutan, Taguig City pending his deportation.
