The singer wore the character’s iconic Versace dress
Before “The Devil Wears Prada’ or “Confessions of a Shopaholic,” there was “13 Going on 30,” starring Jennifer Garner as Jenna Rink, the teenager-turned-fashion magazine editor protagonist of the movie. There are many things to love about the 2004 movie, from its style and theme of empowering young women to the undeniable chemistry between Jennifer and co-star Mark Ruffalo. Many Y2K girls fell in love with the rom-com flick and it looks like pop star Ariana Grande is one of them as she channels Jenna by wearing one of the character’s iconic looks.

In the first live episode of “The Voice,” Ariana wore the colorful Versace dress Jenna wore during the movie’s “Thriller” scene. She even donned the quirky updo to complete the look and frosty eye shadow, the “it” beauty look of the 2000s.
The mod-looking dress was from the maison’s spring 2003 collection. To her delight, the luxury label’s matriarch Donatella Versace shared snaps of the singer in the fun frock.

Any passionate “Arianators” out there would know that this is not the first time the 28-year-old singer paid homage to the movie. In her “Thank U, Next” music video, she did one of the film’s final scenes where Jenna is carrying her dollhouse as Matt (Mark’s character) marries another girl.
