Muntinlupa's active COVID-19 cases down to 164 but public urged to still follow rules
Muntinlupa City’s active coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases are down to 164, sharply decreasing by 83 percent for the month of October.
As of Oct. 31, the active cases in Muntinlupa stood at 164 out of 27,351 confirmed cases. There were 26,616 recoveries and 571 deaths.

The latest tally has decreased by 824 cases, or 83.4 percent, compared to the total active cases of 988 recorded on Oct. 1.
For the whole month of October, Muntinlupa recorded 1,111 new COVID-19 cases from 26,240 on Oct. 1 to 127,351 on Oct. 31.
In September, Muntinlupa added 5,781 new COVID-19 cases from 20,409 on Sept. 1 to 26,190 on Sept. 30.
For monthly comparison, the 1,111 total new cases in October decreased by 4,670 cases, or 81 percent, compared to 5,781 in September.
In October, 1,904 new patients recovered from COVID-19 in Muntinlupa from 24,712 on Oct. 1 to 26,616 on Oct. 31. In addition, 31 people died from COVID-19 last month from 540 on Oct. 1 to 571 on Oct. 31.
Among the 164 active cases, Brgy. Putatan has the highest with 34, followed by Poblacion, 29; Tunasan, 27; Ayala Alabang, 24; Sucat, 14; Alabang and Cupang, 13 each; and Buli, 1.
Despite the sharp decrease in active and new COVID-19 cases, the Muntinlupa City government reminded the public to continue following health and safety protocols including the wearing of face masks, social distancing, and hand-washing.
Mayor Jaime Fresnedi also urged residents to get vaccinated as protection against the adverse effects of COVID-19.
