The Davao Investment Conference 2021 kicks off its first day with a keynote speech by Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte. Following her address are a series of morning sessions on real estate developments by Fernando Zobel de Ayala, Chairman of Ayala Land Inc., and Jose Soberano III, President of Cebu LandMasters Incorporated. Merdecita Sombilla and Ceferino Rodolfo, government officials from the National Economic and Development Authority and the Department of Trade and Industry respectively, will discuss the economic climate in the country, investment plans, and the Corporate Recovery and Tax Incentives for Enterprises (CREATE) Act.
Tourism opportunities are the main subject of the first day’s afternoon sessions, with a brief interlude by the USAID on a Project Match for their platform, DeliverE. Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat of the Department of Tourism and Tomas P. Lorenzo, CEO of the Torre Lorenzo Development Corporation will give brief speeches related to tourism, followed by a plenary session on the same topic to be moderated by Tanya Rabat-Tan, Regional Director at the Department of Tourism for Region XI.
