Representing the two institutions during the virtual memorandum of agreement signing were XU President Fr. Mars P. Tan, SJ and AFI Senior Director for Social Development Joanna O. Duarte.

"Voters' education is crucial in our present time, given the many young voters comprising 52 percent of the total qualified voters in the country," Tan said.

"Many young voters do not want to exercise their right to vote, because they do not see the connection between voting and good governance in the country," he stressed.

However, through the campaign, both parties hope to educate people about the value of voting and to inspire them to act positively.

"We are excited to be allies in this project to provide accessible and verifiable information, helping our citizens in voter education, as well as to encourage them to go out and vote," Duarte added.
