ILOILO CITY — The woman killed in a high-profile murder case that occurred in Iloilo province was buried in her hometown of Buenavista in the island province of Guimaras Sunday, November 7.
Thousands paid their respect to Claire Diergos, whose murder was the talk-of-the-town for over a period of two weeks in both Iloilo and Guimaras.
People flocked the Diergos residence while hundreds lined up the street to watch the funeral procession to the cemetery.
To recall, the 36-year-old woman and single mother who was found dead inside her vehicle in Sta. Barbara town, Iloilo province last October 26.
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) earlier said that the woman was possibly killed in her house in the neighboring Pavia town and that her body was taken out and left inside the vehicle.
During her funeral, the Diergos family is still seeking justice and hope that her killers will be caught soon.
Police Colonel Gilbert Gorero, IPPO chief, earlier told Manila Bulletin that investigators are looking into alleged crime of passion, jealousy and revenge or business-related murder.
