Main suspect in killing of Los Baños mayor arrested in Baguio City

Operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) have arrested a former town councilor in Laguna who was tagged in the assassination of Los Baños City Mayor Caesar Perez in December last year.

CIDG director Maj. Gen. Albert Ignatius Ferro said they tracked down Norvin Tamisin in Baguio City recently and this led to his arrest in Barangay Bakakeng on Nov. 2 using an arrest warrant issued against him by a Regional Trial Court in Laguna for a case of murder.

Tamisin was the primary suspect in the death of Mayor Perez, who was shot several times while in the premises of the town’s municipal hall in December 2020. Perez also served as Laguna’s Vice-Governor from 2010 to 2013.

"He was arrested after a week-long surveillance of our operatives," said Ferro.

Tamisin is considered as the 6th most wanted person in the entire CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon).

He is now under the custody of the CIDG Batangas Provincial Field Office.
