PH's daily COVID-19 cases back to just over 1K

The Philippines on Wednesday, Nov 3, logged 1,591 new cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the lowest since February.

The number of newly detected cases on Wednesday was the lowest since Feb. 24 wherein 1,557 cases were confirmed during that time.

Active cases were also relatively low amid the declining number of infections---which currently stood at 38,014. These cases represent 1.4 percent of the total case count which is now at 2,793,898.

Around 69 percent of the active cases are tagged as mild, 5.2 percent as asymptomatic, 13.87 percent as moderate, 8.1 percent as severe, and 3.4 percent as critical.

Based on the latest case bulletin, there were also 186 new fatalities and 4,294 more recoveries.

These figures pushed the total number of deaths to 43,586 while the recoveries went up to 2,712,298.

“Sa nalalapit na pagtatapos ng taon ay nakikita natin ang patuloy na pagbaba ng bilang ng mga taong nahahawahan ng COVID-19 (As the year comes to an end, we are seeing a steady decline in the number of people being infected with COVID-19),” the DOH said.

“Matitiyak natin ang mababang kaso kung patuloy natin susundin ang minimum public health standards at mabakunahan na ang bawat Pilipino (We can ensure the low number of cases if we continue to follow the minimum public health standards and if every Filipino gets vaccinated),” it added.
