At the Laging Handa public briefing, Education Assistant Secretary Malcolm Garma said that the list of 20 private elementary schools is not yet finalized.

So far, the decision on which of the 20 private schools will participate in our face-to-face has not been finalized),” Garma said.

However, he confirmed that there are 57 private schools that “have been submitted already for evaluation.”

On Nov. 12, we will know which of the 20 private schools will be selected based on the evaluation being done right now),” he added.

Asked why private schools will start the pilot face-to-face classes a week later, DepEd Assistant Alma Torio said that they have to undergo assessment and evaluation first.

The public schools that submitted their intent were subjected to evaluation processes so, this is also what will happen to our private schools that have applied to participate in the implementation of our face-to-face classes),” Torio explained.

Meanwhile, DepEd has completed the list of 100 public schools that will join the pilot face-to-face classes.
