BOC-NAIA clears release of 2.7M doses of Sputnik vaccines


The Bureau of Customs at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport has cleared the release of the 2.7 million doses of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccines that arrived on Tuesday, Nov. 2.

The Sputnik V vaccines, which arrived at around 3 p.m. Tuesday, on board the Philippine Airlines PR8623, will be used by the national government to achieve herd immunity amid the continuous threat of the deadly virus.

The vaccines will be used for both the first and second doses.

All of the 122 boxes were loaded to five reefer trucks and transported to Pharmaserv Cold Storage Facility in Marikina.
