The coronavirus disease (COVID-19) situation in Metro Manila continues to improve with all local government units (LGUs) already at “low risk” level as Filipinos remembered their dearly departed on Monday, November 1, 2021 – All Saints Day.
However, as the health crisis ebbed, the problem on fuel persisted with the price on liquified petroleum gas (LPG) went up by P3.10 per kilogram, and gasoline by P1.15 per liter.
The government is also hailing major victories in the fight against terrorism in Mindanao after military and police forces neutralized key leaders of the communist New People’s Army (NPA) and Muslim extremist Dawlah Islamiya.
These are among the top stories this Monday afternoon, November 1, 2021.

The Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) had earlier mandated a nationwide temporary closure of cemeteries and columbaria from October 29 to November 2 to prevent mass gatherings. (Ali Vicoy)
