De Leon is new PNP CSG head, Central Luzon has new regional police commander
Police Brig. Gen. Valeriano de Leon has been named as the new director of the Civil Security Group (CSG) in a minor reshuffle that was triggered by the retirement of one of the senior officers of the Philippine National Police (PNP).
De Leon replaced Police Maj. Gen. Ferdinand Daway who bowed out of the police service on Monday, Nov. 1 , after reaching the mandatory retirement age of 56.
A member of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Class 1989, de Leon also served as the director of the Police Regional Office 7.
The position is not new for De Leon as he served as the head of the Firearms and Explosive Office which is under the CSG.

The post vacated by De Leon as director of the Police Regional Office 3 was assumed by Police Brig. Gen. Matthew Baccay.
Baccay was replaced by Police Brig. Gen. Orlando Yebra as the head of the Eastern Police District.
The turnover of command at the PRO3 and the CSG were held on Monday and were both presided by PNP chief Gen. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar.
