CEB transports 25 M Covid-19 vaccine doses

The Philippines’ leading carrier, Cebu Pacific (PSE: CEB), has transported more than 25 million COVID-19 vaccine doses across the country since March this year, the airline said.

In a statement, CEB said over the past three weeks it has airlifted vaccine doses to 17 provinces namely: Bacolod, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Davao, Dipolog, Dumaguete, General Santos, Iloilo, Legazpi, Kalibo, Masbate, Ozamiz, Pagadian, Roxas, Tacloban, Zamboanga, and the newest addition to the roster, Naga.

CEB has also carried COVID-19 vaccines to other destinations throughout the past months, specifically: Boracay, Bohol, Cauayan, Cebu, Cotabato, Puerto Princesa, San Jose, Siargao, Tuguegarao, Tawi-Tawi, and Virac.

Aside from Davao and Cagayan de Oro, Iloilo received the biggest vaccine shipments of more than 2,480,000 doses to date.

"We are grateful to Cebu Pacific for their valuable support in the safe delivery of these vaccines. With the continuous supply coming into our province, we can truly ensure the safety of our constituents and immediate flattening of the surge," said Iloilo City Mayor Jerry P. Trenas.

All vaccines were stored in containers with the established temperature limit to ensure that they are preserved until its arrival at the designated stations.

“We are honored to continuously do our part in our nation's fight against COVID-19 through the safe transportation of life-saving vaccines,” said Alex Reyes, Chief Strategy Officer at Cebu Pacific. “Cebu Pacific’s carriage of more than 25 million doses on our flights reflects the wide reach of our domestic network.” Reyes added.

The airline has also transported over 16.5 million vaccine doses from China to the Philippines since April 2021. (Bernie Cahiles-Magkilat)
