Saso, Ardina to finish second round as organizers suspend play at Cognizant Founders Cup

Yuka Saso trailed behind first-round leader Jin Young Ko of Korea after play was suspended due to darkness in the second round of the 2021 Cognizant Founders Cup in West Caldwell, New Jersey Friday (Saturday in Manila).

Saso, who carded a 4-under-par 67 in the first round, was 5-under overall with five holes left to finish after play was halted.

Starting at the back nine in the second round, the Tokyo Olympian currently has three birdies against two bogeys.

Jin remained atop the leaderboard with a 10-under and was running 2-under in the second round with four holes left to finish. She had an opening-round 63.

Sixty-three players have yet to finish their rounds that also included Dottie Ardina, who was 2-under overall.

Ardina, who only played eight holes in the second round, was bogeyless while carding two birdies.
