Col. Lukban assumes post as acting Bulacan police director

Colonel Manuel Lukban Jr., a member of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) Tagapamayapa Class 1990, formally assumed his post as acting Bulacan police director on Friday, Oct. 8.

During the ceremony presided by Brig. Gen. Valeraino T. de Leon, Central Luzon police director, Col. Lawrence B. Cajipe, who served as the top cop of Bulacan Police Provincial Office (BPPO) for almost two years, officially turned over the post to Lukban.

Cajipe is now the new acting regional chief of staff of the Police Regional Office 3.

Lukban, in his message during the ceremony, vowed to give an effective and credible police service in partnership with the community amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

He said he will order the chiefs of police in the towns and cities to deploy enough personnel to secure the people from criminal elements, and strictly enforce the minimum health standards to prevent the transmission of COVID-19.

Lukban is very familiar with the province of Bulacan, being the chief of police in the City of Malolos in 2007 and a former battalion commander of the Provincial Mobile Force Company inside Camp General Alejo Santos.
