Surprise filers join partylist race in May 2022 polls

Several personalities have formalized their bid for a congressional seat as nominees of partylists on the last day of the filing of candidacy in the May 2022 elections.

Architect and former beauty queen Shamcey Supsup is seeking to represent textile workers and cultural community as the nominee of ARTE Partylist.

ARTE stands for Advocates for Retail and Fashion, Textile and Tradition, Events and Entertainment and the Creative Sector.

“In general we represent everyone in fashion and the arts, entertainment, and the guardians of our culture and tradition,” Supsup said after filing their certificate of nomination and acceptance (CONA) on Friday, Oct. 8.

“We are here to ensure that jobs are created and protected, and future-proof of our culture and tradition,” she added.
