Jollibee Foods Corporation’s Smashburger has opened two new stores in Chicago and New York as part of the US-based fast casual better burger restaurant’s plan to add at least 20 new stores this year.

In a statement, the Jollibee Group said this is in line with their aggressive expansion program in North America, which is consistent with its vision to become among the top five restaurant companies in the world.

Smashburger’s third Chicago-area store which opened in September is located at the new Edens Collection shopping center in the city’s Far North Side and situated within Albany Park while the Jackson Heights restaurant in Queens, New York is located between Ithaca St. and 82nd Street.

“We are hoping to make Smashburger a part of the Chicago North Mayfair and New York Queens communities and be able to serve not only mouthwatering burgers, but also delicious breakfast for families of all ages,” said Smashburger President Carl Bachmann.

Chicago’s North Side is a quintessential neighborhood complete with beautiful parks and residential areas booming with history, while the Jackson Heights neighborhood in Queens, New York is a melting pot of culture offering some of the most diverse cuisines from Asia, South America among others.

“Residents should not have to leave their neighborhood for a quality burger which is why we are so thrilled to be bringing our Smashburger menu variety to North Mayfair and Queens,” Bachmann added.

Both newly opened stores feature the brand’s signature Certified Angus Beef burgers, grilled and crispy chicken sandwiches, turkey and black bean burgers, and fresh crisp salads.

Interior elements of the new stores feature an exposed kitchen with the grill as the main focal point. Dining seats are thoughtfully placed throughout the restaurant and offer a nod back to the brand’s Colorado roots, while also displaying artworks of Chicago and New York’s cityscapes.
