Bisaya Gyud partylist files CONA

Bisaya Gyud Partylist filed its certificate of nomination and acceptance (CONA) on Friday, Oct. 8, for the May 2022 elections.

Victorino Garay, president of the Bisaya Gyud Partylist, and members of the party-list formalized their bid after filing their CONA at the Harbor Garden of Sofitel Manila in Pasay City.

Bisaya Gyud, a neophyte partylist group, seeks to uphold the rights and welfare of the Bisaya and continue the programs established by the current administration in the Visayas and Mindanao.

The partylist aspirant said they plan to achieve this through a platform that focuses on providing food, shelter, and education.

In a press release, Garay said that the lack of local opportunity in the Visayas and Mindanao has compelled people from these areas to risk migrating to highly-urbanized regions like Metro Manila or try their luck abroad.

"We have witnessed the reality that our Visayan compatriots are trying their luck to look for economic opportunities either in Manila or in going abroad due to the lack of livelihood opportunities, education, and labor development in the countryside," Garay said.

"We hope that our Visayan brothers and sisters will take part in the aspiration of equitable development of the country, and the growth of the culture, wealth, and capacity of the Visayas,” he added.
