Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso vowed to stop the extra-judicial killings (EJKs) in the country if he gets elected as president in the 2022 national elections.

In a statement on Thursday, Oct. 7, Domagoso said he will implement a national anti-drug campaign that is based on the rule of law.
He also does not support the Philippine National Police’s Operation “Tokhang."
The Manila mayor said he will continue the anti-drug policy where the rights of the suspects will be respected and they can have their days in court.
“There are no EJKs in Manila. Unless the suspects threatened the lives of our policemen, the suspects were properly apprehended, and that their human rights were respected in the process of the entire drug operations,” he said.
While eliminating drugs is a priority, Domagoso said it still has to be done in recognition of every individual’s human rights.
“I believe that human rights are fundamental and that every person has the right to defend themselves before the courts,” he added.
On August 5, 2019, Domagoso presented 35 drug suspects arrested by authorities in Manila over a one-week period.
“This is just one good news. Another good news, out of the 35 arrested, 35 are alive,” the mayor said, assuring that it is a policy that he will consistently implement.
On June 21, he also presented a Chinese national who was arrested with 38 kilos of shabu worth P258.4 million as well as five other suspects who were arrested with 8.5 kilos of shabu worth P58-million.
On Thursday, Oct. 6, Domagoso presented seven drug suspects who were caught with 835 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P5.6 million.
He congratulated the Manila Police District (MPD) for the successful operations, adding he was proud of the men and women of the MPD for capturing the suspects “alive."
Domagoso officially announced his presidential bid on Sept. 22.
He filed his certificate of candidacy on Monday, Oct. 6.
