Kilusang Mayo Uno (KMU) Chairperson Elmer "Bong" Labog has filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) on Wednesday, Oct. 6.

Labog will run under Makabayan Coalition (Makabayan) bloc.
Should he get elected, Labog said he will push for just compensation for all workers, both in the public and private sectors.
"Pagtiyak ng trabaho para sa lahat, pagtiyak sa kabuhayan, pabahay, at pagrespeto sa karapatan ng mga manggagawang Pilipino partikular sa ating umiiral na labor laws, Saligang Batas, at international conventions (I will ensure employment for all, livelihood, housing, and respect for the rights of Filipino workers, particularly in our existing labor laws, Constitution, and international conventions)," he added.
"Alam ko po na sahod na umiiral ay di sapat, P537 lang sa Metro Manila at binabagabag tayo ng maraming problema tulad ng tuloy-tuloy na pagtaas ng presyo ng langis, hindi makaagapay ang ating sahod. Mas matindi ang kalagayan ng ating manggagawa sa mga probinsya, mas mababa ang antas ng sahod (I know that our existing wage is not enough, only P537 in Metro Manila and we are bothered by many problems such as the continuous increase in oil prices, our wages cannot keep up. The situation of our workers in the province is worse, because their wages are lower)."
He said he seeks to represent laborers and farmers in the Senate.
Labog was endorsed by Anakpawis partylist to run for senator along with former Bayan Muna representative Neri Colmenares.
