Alina Bicar joins Petro Gazz Angels

The Petro Gazz Angels strengthened their roster for future Premier Volleyball League tournaments by signing University of Santo Tomas setter Alina Bicar.

The team announced Bicar’s inclusion to the lineup Wednesday in its social media accounts.

“New Angel alert! Let’s all welcome Alina Bicar, the newest addition to the team!” the post read.

Bicar, who was part of the UST crew that finished second in the 2019 UAAP edition, played for the BaliPure Water Defenders in the previous PVL Open Conference in Laoag, Ilocos Norte.

She is expected to join fellow veteran setters Chie Saet and Ivy Perez, outside hitters Grethcel Soltones, Ces Molina and Myla Pablo, middle blocker Ria Meneses and Remy Palma, and libero Kath Arado.

The Angels finished third in the last conference behind champion Chery tiggo and runner-up Creamline. They seek a second PVL title after winning the 2019 Reinforced Conference.
