Poll official asks aspirants to avoid filing COCs on last day
Those planning to file their certificates of candidacy (COCs) and certificate of nomination and acceptance (CONAs) for the May 2022 polls were urged by an official of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to file early and not wait for the last day of filing.

"I’d like to convince those who are planning to file their COCs, you have Wednesday and Thursday," Comelec Commissioner Antonio Kho said Tuesday Oct. 5 at the sidelines of the filing of COCs at Sofitel Tent in Pasay City.
"Let us all avoid flocking on Friday," he added.
Kho said this as he noted the practice or tradition of Filipinos of usually coming at the last time, last minute.
Filing early, the poll official said, would also give aspirants enough time in case there is a problem with their COCs.
"What if they lack requirements or you have the wrong COC form or supporting documents, you will still have time to go back and fix it," Kho said.
"I ask you to file early. If you can file it tomorrow, please do," he added.
The filing of COCs started Oct. 1 and will end on Oct. 8,2021.
