Pharmally exec claims panic attack to skip Senate hearing; Mago shows up at probe
The Pharmally Pharmaceutical Corporation official who earlier broke contact with the Senate after giving her testimony affirming the anomalies in the government’s procurement of COVID-19 pandemic supplies from their company showed up at the continuation of the Senate blue ribbon committee’s investigation.
Krizle Grace Mago, virtually showed up at the 11th hearing of the Senate blue ribbon panel, even after she sought refuge at the House of Representatives which is also conducting its own probe into Pharmally’s transactions with the Department of Budget and Management’s Procurement Service (DBM-PS).
Mago, an incorporator of Pharmally and regulatory affairs head, had earlier admitted having tampered the manufacturing dates of the face shields procured by the government from them.
Later at the House hearing, Mago backtracked her testimony in the Senate was a “pressured response.”
But in his opening remarks, Sen. Richard Gordon slammed Mago’s retraction saying she cannot deny her very own response to the senators’ query when she was asked about the testimony of a warehouse staff.
“There’s no amount of denying it now. Nailura niya na yung sinabi niyang ginagantsyo nila ang gobyerno. Hindi lang isang beses inamin, kundi dalawa (She has already spitted out of her mouth that they were swindling the government. She didn’t admit it once, but twice),” Gordon pointed out.
“Mapapakita natin na meron pang nakapag-testigo na kasama siya doon sa gumagawa ng pangga-gantso (And we can show proof that there is another witness that would attest that she is one of those swindling the government),” he said.
Panic attack
Meanwhile, Pharmally executive Twinkle Dargani, was not able to attend the hearing, due to a “panic attack.”
This was disclosed by Mohit Dargani, Pharmally’s corporate secretary and treasurer. Mago had earlier testified she received the order to tamper the manufacturing dates of the face shields from Mohit Dargani.
“My sister is experiencing a panic attack right now,” Dargani told the committee.
Gordon, however, rejected the Dargani’s explanation, saying their excuse is not sufficient enough to be absent for the hearing.
