Duterte confident that Go will be PH's 'best vice president'; here's why
President Duterte believes that based on Senator Christopher "Bong" Go's track record as a lawmaker and his former special assistant, the latter will surely become the country’s "best vice president" if elected.

"With his track record of service and strong work ethic rooted in compassion towards the poor and the neglected, I strongly believe that he will be the best vice president of the country," Duterte said during his latest public address on Monday, Oct. 4.
The President announced his withdrawal from the May 2022 vice presidential race last Saturday, Oct. 2, the same day he accompanied Go in filing his certificate of candidacy (COC) for vice president. Duterte subsequently claimed he would retire from politics.
"I strongly and fully believe that Senator Bong Go is the best person to help the next president continue my legacy and build on the gains that we have achieved, especially in terms of providing basic services to healthcare, education, and other social services for the people," Duterte said.
Duterte justified his opinion by saying that his long-time aide has already fulfilled his duties as a legislator by passing several laws that benefit Filipinos in need like victims of fire, flood, and other calamities; as well as those who are heavily affected by the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
He also brought up the creation of Malasakit Centers in the country which dates back from when Go was still the President's special assistant.
"With this, I encourage our kababayans (countrymen) to look at his deeds and achievements as you consider your list of candidates for the next president --- vice president rather," the President added.
