Chinese envoy expresses appreciation for Filipinos' support by giving prizes

Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines Huang Xilian has a modern way of appreciating Filipinos' show of support for the Philippine-China relations.

Believe it or not, just by commenting on the Facebook page of the Chinese Ambassador, you can actually win a prize.

The Chinese Ambassador identifies the top commenters on his official Facebook page every month to give them a prize as a token of appreciation.

In September, nine Facebook users, who expressed their thoughts on every post of the diplomat, were given prizes.

Huang said it is his way "to show appreciation for the love and support" Filipinos have shown since the diplomat established his social media page.

"I just wanted to thank all of you for continuously supporting me through my official Facebook page. I’ve read all of your messages and they are well appreciated!" Huang wrote on his page on Sunday, Oct. 3 as he announced the winners for the month.

Huang decided to join the social media platform in December last year to stay connected with everyone.

In his announcement of top commenters for August 2021, the Chinese diplomat said "this is my way to give credit to chosen Filipinos who voice their quality thoughts and show their never-ending support for Philippine-China relations."

He went on by saying, "I am deeply grateful and appreciative of all your comments and messages through my Facebook. Hopefully, this small token of recognition lets everyone know that our community's success wouldn't be possible without all of you."

"I am really delighted to see your responses as they provide so many insights and well-wishes. Everyone's support truly makes me hopeful for the future of PH-China relations!" Huang added.

Huang's official page now has 39,000 followers.
