Blackpink's Jisoo gives behind-the-scenes look at Dior's atelier, history, and latest collection

Here’s what she’s been up to during her trip to Dior in Paris

Apart from her being part of the K-Pop girl group sensation Blackpink, actress and singer Jisoo is also known for her chic sense of style. That’s why it is not hard to find her among the style elites attending fashion shows from all over the world. This time, the South Korean artist, gives a glimpse of what’s happening behind the scenes in Paris Fashion Week spring-summer 2022 as she went to Dior’s atelier and attended its latest runway show.

In the video released by the French luxury label, Jisoo got first-hand experience on witnessing the creation of the spring-summer 2022 collection. Dior’s current creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri looked at the works of Marc Bohan, creative director of the house in the 1960s, as inspiration for its newest offering. Known for the “Slim Look,” Bohan departed the “New Look” silhouette created by Monsieur Christian Dior and crafted pieces that “removed the focus from the waist and introduced a more youthful allure.” In Grazia’s collection, the result is a vibrant array of contemporary pieces that are fun, young, and full of life.

“March Bohan introduced the casual style to Dior, which was famous for haute couture,” Jisoo said. “These efforts made by Marc Bohan carryover years later to Maria Grazia’s collection to make women feel comfortable.”

Apart from giving an insider view of the 2022 collection, Jisoo also visited Dior Heritage and got to see some of the archive pieces from the house such as the 1995 Lady Dior bag, dedicated to Diana, Princess of Wales, and a vintage shoe inspired by the Lily of the Valley. The video diary ended with Jisoo at the Jardin des Tuileries to see the highly-anticipated collection unveiled on the runway.

“The bright colors and graphic elements made this year’s fashion show even more dynamic,” she said. “When I see the set with the models dressed in all these colors, I feel like I’m in a video game. There were so many beautiful outfits. I loved them all! If I had to pick just one, the dress with the ribbon at the chest that I saw would be my favorite.”
