Virtual vax confab slated in Nov. 10 and 12

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) urged the local government units (LGUs) urged local officials in Davao and Bangsamoro Autonomous regions to send their representatives to the virtual meet in the 22nd Philippine National Immunization Conference (PNIC) on Nov. 10 and 12 which coincides with the World Pneumonia Day.

In his Sept. 28, 2021 memorandum circular 2021-111, DILG Secretary Eduardo Año said that the Philippine Foundation for Vaccination in its Sept. 10 letter requested the department to issue the invitation to the concerned parties.

With the theme “Pag-unawa sa Pagbabakuna sa Kalagitnaan ng Pandemyang COVID-19 (Understanding Vaccination in the Midst of the COVID-19 Pandemic)’’, the conference aims to provide assistance in the implementation of the coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) vaccination programs not only in the Davao region but also in the whole country.

The meet will also update the participants, particularly the health workers on the various vaccine brands, analyze major vaccination issues and discuss how to further improve and maintain public trust on the vaccines.

Those expected to attend the conference are doctors, nurses, midwives and private and public health personnel.

The local chief executives (LCE) were urged to convince government health personnel in their respective jurisdictions to attend the conference.
