Robredo supporters growing 'impatient' told by 1Sambayan: 'Give her more time'
A co-convenor of opposition coalition 1Sambayan asked Vice President Leni Robredo’s supporters to give the official “some more time” as she’s in the final stages of deciding to run as president in the May 2022 elections.

Bro. Armin Luistro, former Education secretary, admitted that he is “getting impatient,” too.
“But, let's respect her request for some more time to truly discern and prepare for this life-changing decision. Ilang tulog na lang naman (It’s just a few more days, anyway). 1Sambayan joins our VP Leni in prayer at this time,” he said in a text message to the Manila Bulletin.
After thanking 1Sambayan for its endorsement of her possible candidacy last Thursday, Sept. 30, Robredo asked for prayers as she decides on her political plans.
She was in Bicol to arrange the transfer of her voter’s registration from Naga City to nearby Magarao town when 1Sambayan formally endorsed her for president.
Her spokesman, Ibarra Gutierrez, also cryptically replied when asked about Robredo’s decision.
“A few more days... (wink face emoji),” he said in a message to reporters covering the Office of the Vice President (OVP).

Robredo is back in Manila on Monday, Oct. 4, after a stopover in Capas, Tarlac to oversee her office’s Vaccine Express initiative for the Aeta communities there.
Luistro earlier said he believed Robredo’s trip to Naga was a “sentimental journey” and that if she plans to decline the endorsement, she would’ve done it from there.
There were talks that she will announce her decision on Tuesday, Oct. 5, but there is no indication that the vice president has any important event planned on that date.
It was the same date when decided to run for vice president in the 2016 elections. She won despite being a virtual unknown in the public sphere.
Robredo’s supporters have been calling on her for weeks to run as president, making variations of the hashtag #LeniforPresident2022 trend on social media site Twitter.
The vice president has earlier asked for more time as she wants to unite the opposition, believing it to be the only way to defeat a continuation of the Duterte government or the possible comeback of a Marcos to Malacañang.
But the filing of the COCs of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno and Senator Manny Pacquiao appear to be the final straws of a fruitless attempt to unify the alleged pro-democracy forces.
