The 23 families who lost homes to the fire that broke out at Culdesac Rotonda, Sun Valley in Paranaque City on Saturday (Oct. 2) will receive cash and construction materials from the city government.
Mayor Edwin Olivarez said the affected families are now temporarily staying at modular tents and a chapel in the area.
Olivarez, who visited the fire victims on Monday (Oct. 4), announced that barangays and the City Environment and Natural Office (CENRO) were already ordered to clean the fire debris.
He said the fire victims can immediately start the construction of their houses once the clearing operations are finished.
The mayor said the city government provided the victims with food packs, hygiene kits and mats for the children.
The affected families will also receive additional construction materials and P5,000 cash coming from First District Rep. Eric Olivarez.
Based on the investigation of the Paranaque Bureau of Fire and Protection (BFP), the fire started on the second floor of the house of the fatality, one-year-old Zach Prado, at 4053 Culdesac Rotonda, Sun Valley.
The BFP placed at P100,000 the damage wrought by the fire that was controlled at about 5:03 p. m. Saturday.
