New Ospital ng Maynila now 70 percent complete - Mayor Isko

The construction of the new Ospital ng Maynila building is now 70 percent complete, Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso said on Monday, Oct. 4.

During his inspection of the ongoing construction of the new hospital, Domagoso said its new facilities are expected to be finished this year.

“The Filipino people deserve better from their government. While it is true that we are challenged nowadays, utilization of funds for public purposes can be directed to priorities,” he said.

“This one was designed as a long term solution: better healthcare facility, better services, fully equipped, enough medical professionals,” he added.

The new hospital's fund came from the city's revenue, "which will get a boost from the implementation of the Supreme Court’s Mandanas ruling next year," according to the city government.

The P2.3-billion hospital will be 10-story high with a total floor area of 29,951 square meters and a capacity of 384 beds with 12 intensive-care units and 20 private rooms. It will also have a three-story parking building and a helipad.
