Kobe Paras was held to just 10 points in his second B.League game but earned his first victory in Japan after Niigata Albirex edged the Kyoto Hannaryz, 76-75, Sunday, Oct. 3 at the City Hall Plaza Aore in Nagaoka, Japan.
Yuto Nohmi’s basket with three seconds left gave Niigata the victory a day after Paras’ debut ended with an 85-81 defeat despite an impressive 25-point effort.
Paras struggled a bit on offense, going 5-of-14 from the field after making half of his 16 attempts the previous game.
He also had two rebounds in 27 minutes for Niigata, which stole the victory from the visitors after being down 75-70 with two minutes remaining.
The win coupled with his good two-game stretch should give Paras confidence heading into Niigata's two-game series against Thirdy Ravena and the San-En Neophoenix on the road next weekend.
Ravena and the Neophoenix split the two-game set with older brother Kiefer and the host Shiga Lakestars this weekend in Otsu.
Paras was among the five Niigata players in double figures, with Rosco Allen and Nohmi each finishing with a team-high 16.
