DOST, Mapua to sign MOA on nanotechnology research program

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and Mapua University are expected to sign on Tuesday, Oct. 4, a memorandum of agreement on the implementation of the “Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Material Science with specialization in Nanotechnology by Research Program.”

DOST-Industrial Technology Development Institute (ITDI) announced that a new partnership between the DOST and Mapua University will be forged to implement the program.

“Join us on Tuesday, 5 October 2021 at 5:30 p.m. via Zoom and Facebook Live as the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and Mapua University embark on a new partnership to implement the “Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Material Science with specialization in Nanotechnology by Research Program” that aims to offer postgraduate research for a PhD degree in Material Science specializing in Nanotechnology to be undertaken at Mapua University,” read the DOST-ITDI Facebook post on Monday, Oct. 4.

“Successful applicants will receive scholarships from the Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) and will be allowed to conduct their researches at the Industrial Technology Development Institute (DOST-ITDI) through its Nanotechnology and ADMATEL laboratories guided by its nanotechnology experts as advisers focusing on biomedical applications, human security, and nutraceuticals.”

DOST Undersecretary for Research and Development (R&D) Dr. Rowena Cristina L. Guevara will deliver the welcome remarks and introduce the research program.

DOST Secretary Fortunato T. De La Peña, and Mapua President and CEO Dr. Reynaldo B. Vea are expected to deliver their respective messages.

DOST S&T Services Undersecretary Dr. Renato U. Solidum, Jr., Dean of the Graduate School in Mapua University Dr. Jonathan Winston L. Salvacion, SEI Director Dr. Josette T. Biyo, and ITDI Director Dr. Annabelle V. Briones will also grace the event.
