“Ka Oris”, the New People’s Army (NPA) top leader in Mindanao, was slain in an encounter with government forces in Imapasugong town in Bukidnon at dawn Saturday, October 30, 2021. His death could deal a major blow to the rebels’ armed struggle in Northern and Northeastern Mindanao.

The Department of Education (DepEd) also announced that Christmas break in public elementary and high schools will be from December 20, 2021 until January 2, 2022.

On the political front, presidential candidates Vice President Leni Robredo and Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso visited Bicol and northern Luzon, respectively.

Meanwhile, the 1Sambayan said it was inclined to support only half of Vice President Leni Robredo’s senatorial slate
