Comelec records 400K more registrants during extended voter registration period

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) said about 400,000 more Filipinos were able to register during the voter registration extension period.
Comelec Spokesperson James Jimenez said that the conduct of the extended period of voter registration from Oct. 11 to 30 was a success.
"We think it was generally successful. Masyadong maraming dumating at talagang dinagsa tayo. In fact, in many places particularly in NCR (National Capital Region), kinailangan natin i-suspend yung issuance of voter's certification for the last two days sa sobrang daming dumadating (Several people came and we were really crowded. In fact, in many places particularly in NCR, we had to suspend the issuance of voter's certification for the last two days due to the large number of registrants),” said Jimenez in an interview with ABS-CBN News on Sunday, Oct. 31.
On his official Twitter account, Jimenez said the public should now think who among the candidates in the 2022 elections are deserving to serve the country.
“Voter Registration is done. Now you need to start thinking about what the country needs, which candidate can bring us closest to filling those needs, and what you can do to help your chosen candidates win. #motoka #votesafepilipinas,” he said.
