5 drug suspects arrested in Subic buy-bust

Anti-narcotics authorities seized some P80,600 worth of shabu following the arrest of five drug suspects in a buy-bust operation in Subic, Zambales.

The suspects were identified as Ryan Rarick, 34, Gerry Recote, 32, Ferdinand Velasco, 42, Norman Palo, 32 and Teresita Chavez, 61.

In a statement, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said that four small heated sealed transparent plastic sachets of shabu weighing more or less 12 grams, assorted drug paraphernalia and buy-bust money were confiscated in the 5:17 p.m. entrapment operation.

The suspects face charges for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165 otherwise known as “The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002’’.

The operation was conducted by PDEA Central Luzon, Philippine National Police (PNP) Regional Maritime Unit (RMU) 3, PNP-Olongapo City Maritime Police, PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Zamables and Subic Police Station. (Chito A. Chavez)
