
The Department of Health said there were 3,410 new cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) across the country.
These infections pushed the nationwide cumulative total to 2,787,276, of which, 45,233 remained as active cases or those who are still being treated.
Of the active cases, 73.6 percent have mild symptoms, 4.9 percent were asymptomatic, 6.8 percent were in severe condition, 2.9 percent were critical, 11.83 percent were in moderate condition.
The death toll rose to 43,172 after 128 more people died. The country's case fatality rate is at 1.55 percent.
Meanwhile, 5,825 others have recovered, raising the recovery tally to 2,698,871 or 96.8 percent of the total number of confirmed cases.
“Iwasan nating maging kampante at ipagpatuloy ang mahigpit na pagsunod sa ating public health standards sa lahat ng oras at lugar (Let us avoid complacency and continue to strictly adhere to our public health standards at all times),” the DOH said.
“Nananatiling ito ang ating pangunahing depensa laban sa pagkalat ng anumang variant ng COVID-19 (These remain as our main defense against the spread of any variant of COVID-19),” it added.
