Seventeen’s ‘Attacca’ album sells 1.33 million copies in one week


K-pop boy band Seventeen became a “million-seller” again through their ninth mini-album “Attacca.”

Based on sales on Korea’s Hanteo Chart, “Attacca” sold 1,335,862 copies in the first week of release from Oct. 22 to 28.

“Attacca” sold 491,139 copies on the first day on Oct. 22 followed by 45,276 copies on Oct. 23; 21,351 copies on Oct. 24; 339,725 copies Oct. 25; 254,860 copies on Oct. 26; 70,231 copies on Oct. 27; and 113,280 copies Oct. 28. The album reached at least one million copies in sales on the fifth day of release.

With 1.33 million copies in sales, “Attacca” became the third highest first-week sales among albums released in 2021, according to Hanteo Chart.

Seventeen’s previous album “Your Choice” sold 1,364,127, or slightly higher by 28,265 compared to the first-week sales of “Attacca.”

According to Hanteo Chart, Seventeen became the only artist that recorded first-week sales of at least one million copies two times in a row this year.

“Attacca” is Seventeen’s fifth consecutive album to reach at least one million copies in sales after “An Ode,” “Henggarae,” “Semicolon” and “Your Choice.” It contains seven songs including "Rock with You."

On Gaon Music Chart, “Attacca” topped the weekly album chart for the period Oct. 17 to 23 with sales of 268,916.

On the other hand, Seventeen will hold their online concert “Power of Love” on Nov. 14 and 21. The concert will feature 11 members of Seventeen as Jun and The8 are in China for their individual activities.

The two concert dates will feature the themes “Power” for Nov. 14 and “Love” for Nov. 21 and “some sequences and stages will be different for each concert's unique theme,” according to Pledis Entertainment.
