NTF adviser hopes for 50% of population fully vaccinated by year end
A special adviser to the National Task Force Against COVID-19 has expressed optimism that 50 percent of the country’s population will be fully vaccinated against coronavirus disease (COVID-19) by the end of the year.

“As of now, we have inoculated 58 million doses...and I think...more than half of that is the fully vaccinated,” Dr. Ted Herbosa said in a public briefing on Saturday, Oct. 30.
“Pataas ng pataas ang rate natin, nasa 32 percent na tayo (Our rate is going up, we are at 32 percent). Hopefully, makukuha natin iyong (we will achieve) 50 percent fully vaccinated by the end of December,” he added.
Based on the National COVID-19 Vaccination Dashboard, the Philippines has administered 58,879,887 doses of COVID-19 vaccines as of Oct. 29.
Of the figure, 31,775,506 doses were administered for the first dose, while 27,104,381 doses were used for the second dose.
According to Herbosa, 707,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines were administered nationwide on Oct. 29
“Lumalapit tayo doon sa (We are close to the target) one million a day. Hopefully by next week, ma-attain natin iyan (we can attain that) with all the adjustments and recalibration,” he said.
“Ma-attain natin iyong (We can attain) 1.5 million vaccine per day para before Christmas, nakapag 70 million na tayo at least na Pilipinong vaccinated (so that before Christmas, we already have at least 70 million Filipinos vaccinated),” he added.
