Gov't to impose 'on time delivery' of Pfizer, Moderna vaccines - NTF adviser
The government will be implementing “on time delivery” of vaccines against coronavirus disease (COVID-19) that require “ultra-low temperature” storage facilities, a special adviser to the National Task Force Against COVID-19 said Saturday, Oct. 30.

“Ang problems natin ngayon (Our problems right now), because most of the vaccines now are Pfizer, Moderna ay gagawa tayo ng system na tinatawag na (we will create a system called) just in time delivery,” Dr. Ted Herbosa said in a public briefing.
“Matindi kasi ang requirement for cold chain nitong mga current vaccines that we are holding (The requirement for cold chain of these vaccines that we are holding is complicated),” he added.
Herbosa noted that Pfizer and Moderna vaccines require “ultra-low temperature freezers.”
According to the Department of Health, Pfizer vaccines must be stored at -80 to -60 degrees Celsius, while Moderna vaccines must be kept at -25 to -15 degrees Celsius.
“The only solution we are finding is iyong tinatawag na (the so-called) on time delivery na ‘pag nabigay sa inyong ang LGU, ma-vaccinate ninyo kaagad sa mga taong mangangailangan (that the vaccines are given to the local government unit, they must immediately vaccinate the people in need),” he said.
Herbosa said that 707,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines were administered nationwide on Oct. 29 alone.
“Lumalapit tayo doon sa (We are close to the target) one million a day. Hopefully by next week, ma-attain natin iyan (we can attain that) with all the adjustments and recalibration,” he said.
“Ma-attain natin iyong (We can attain) 1.5 million vaccine per day para before Christmas, nakapag 70 million na tayo at least na Pilipinong vaccinated (so that before Christmas, we already have at least 70 million Filipinos vaccinated),” he added.
